Baby Boomers have different expectations

Baby Boomers have a preference for pay-as-you-go optional services. They also expect services that allow aging in place in a spacious apartment versus a smaller Assisted Living unit without a kitchen. Recent reports advise that numbers of Baby Boomers living in senior communities are expected to double from today’s levels to 44.2 million by 2039. This presents an unprecedented opportunity to redefine senior living, moving away from an outdated perception of senior communities.

As per (Baby Boomer Trends for Senior Living | WATG.. According to a 2022 survey done by the American Seniors Housing Association, a total of 92% of respondents said they agreed or strongly agreed that remaining independent and being self-sufficient is important. Just under a quarter of respondents said they preferred to live in their own home (New Report Sheds Light on Baby Boomers’ Desired Senior Living Services, Amenities – Senior Housing News).

Our CEO, Tim (also a baby boomer), and our team have watched the evolution of expectations of boomers that can afford choices to those that have much less income and need added creativity to have options as they age in place. Many more Free Online Senior Programs have emerged since the pandemic, and telemedicine will continue to be more and more cost-effective in the near future. Our company has established its Enhanced Active Living branding and modeling as part of Independent Living and Senior Housing to support aging in place as an alternative to Assisted Living, let alone Skilled Nursing Facilities.
